Alaska Issues Final Rules Implementing Paid Sick Leave Law
Alaska has released its final regulations implementing the state’s paid sick leave law, which applies to all employers with employees in Alaska. These rules clarify how employers must calculate employee eligibility, determine accrual limits, apply frontloading, handle carryover, set rates of pay during leave, and meet notice and documentation requirements.
Employers should review and update their paid sick leave policies and practices to ensure compliance with the new regulations. Pay statements must also now include sick leave used and the employee’s current balance.
