Kevin Cummings

HR and Legal Consultant

Kevin Cummings is a Co-Founder of HR Consulting Group and serves as an HR and Legal Consultant, bringing over 15 years of experience advising organizations on human resources strategy, employment law compliance, and organizational effectiveness. Kevin partners with businesses to build compliant, scalable HR infrastructures that protect organizations while empowering leaders and employees to perform at their best.

Kevin has led HR operations across multiple industries including logistics, construction, manufacturing, and fulfillment, with deep experience supporting multi-state employers. His expertise includes employee relations, workplace investigations, policy development, wage and hour compliance, risk mitigation, workforce planning, and employment related contract review and drafting. He regularly advises executive teams on complex HR and legal matters, helping organizations navigate compliance requirements while aligning people strategies with business goals.

In addition to his consulting work, Kevin currently serves in senior HR leadership roles where he has built HR departments from the ground up, reduced turnover, improved compliance outcomes, and partnered closely with legal counsel to successfully manage and resolve employment related claims. His hands on approach allows him to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, defensible solutions that businesses can implement with confidence.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Colorado State University. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and SHRM of Northern Nevada, where he also serves on the Legislative Committee. He holds multiple professional certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and maintains a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

At HR Consulting Group, Kevin is driven by a commitment to clarity, accountability, and proactive risk management. He is known for his direct and transparent consulting style, helping clients establish strong foundations, reduce liability, and create workplaces where structure, compliance, and people centered leadership work together.

Ryan Thoma

Human Resources Consultant

Ryan Thoma is a Co-Founder of HR Consulting Group and is a mission driven Human Resources professional and U.S. Army Veteran with nearly a decade of experience supporting organizations across military, logistics, and corporate environments. He specializes in recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management, helping organizations with workforces exceeding 1,000 employees improve efficiency and engagement.

Ryan currently serves as an HR Consultant and holds a concurrent role as an HR Generalist, with prior experience supporting large scale logistics operations. His background as a U.S. Army Human Resources Manager shaped his commitment to integrity, accountability, and people first leadership.

He holds a SHRM Workplace Investigation Certificate and earned his Bachelor of Science in Neuropsychology from Wright State University and his Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Tiffin University. Ryan brings strong expertise in FMLA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, and EEO compliance, and is passionate about employee advocacy and leadership development. He partners with organizations to build compliant, inclusive, and high performing workplaces where both people and businesses thrive.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys traveling and reading, continuously seeking new experiences and perspectives that enrich both his personal and professional life.

Conner Brian

Information Technology Consultant

Conner Brian is a Co-Founder of HR Consulting Group and serves as an IT and Integration Consultant, bringing a strong background in information technology strategy, systems integration, and operational infrastructure. With experience in software engineering and technical leadership, he partners with organizations to design and implement scalable, connected environments that align technology with business objectives, improve efficiency, and support long term growth. Conner is known for translating complex technical requirements into practical solutions, helping organizations streamline operations, improve data flow, and build reliable, well structured IT ecosystems.

Conner has led a wide range of initiatives focused on integrating business systems, improving operational workflows, and enhancing overall technology performance. His experience includes aligning internal and external platforms, automating processes, and ensuring consistency across systems to support growing organizations. He works closely with leadership teams to identify gaps, reduce inefficiencies, and implement solutions that create more connected and effective business operations.

His leadership approach emphasizes accountability, mentorship, and continuous improvement. Conner has supported the development of technical teams, guided software development efforts, established operational best practices, and provided guidance on infrastructure planning, system reliability, and long term technology strategy. He is experienced in bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are both effective and aligned with organizational goals.

In addition to his consulting work, Conner brings hands on experience supporting infrastructure, system reliability, and user focused problem solving across multiple environments. His background spans industries including logistics and healthcare, providing a well rounded perspective on supporting and maintaining critical business systems.

Conner holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from University of Nevada, Reno and has completed multiple certifications in process improvement, networking, and IT operations, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Cisco CCNA. He maintains a strong focus on integration strategy, operational efficiency, and building scalable, dependable technology environments.

Outside of work, Conner enjoys exploring new cultures, traveling, and snowboarding, continuously seeking new experiences that broaden his perspective both personally and professionally.
