Important Update for E-Verify Employers: Action Required by January 22, 2026
USCIS has announced that E-Verify employers have until January 22, 2026 to download records for any E-Verify case last updated on or before December 31, 2015. Beginning January 23, 2026, USCIS will permanently delete these records as part of its routine 10 year data disposal cycle.
To retain this information, program administrators should download the Historical Records Report, which includes:
• Company profile information
• Case identifiers
• Case resolution details
Employers who have not already done so must also ensure that the E-Verify case verification number is properly recorded on each corresponding Form I-9, or that a copy of the case details page is attached. The Historical Records Report should be retained alongside those Form I-9s for compliance purposes.
Proactive recordkeeping ensures you remain compliant with federal verification requirements and prepared for any future audits or reviews.
